Things to Consider When Planning Ahead

Common objections to planning ahead (besides fear):

My Spouse Can Handle It

The person, who is left to make your arrangements at the time of your death will not know what you would have chosen. This leaves them with additional stress and often guilt from wondering if they did the right thing.

I Want to Talk to My Children

Many people tell us they want to talk to their children before making their arrangements. They fail to realize that it is more difficult for the children to consider the death of their parents. Most of the time, the children tell the parents not to worry about it – only because considering the loss of a parent is too hard. Why not call your children after planning ahead with this:

“Kids, we love you so much that we went ahead and made all of our final arrangements and paid for them ahead of time. We don’t want to leave you with unnecessary burden and expense. You just be together and help each other during that time.”

My Life Insurance Will Take Care of It

Some people think their life insurance will take care of the funeral expenses.

Consider This:

Life insurance is:

  • Not readily available
  • Often not enough
  • Meant for the well being and future life of the survivor
  • Will not keep your loved ones from making all the decisions on the worst day of their lives

Something Else to Consider:

We pay for protection against accidents, sickness, theft and property damage, and make monthly payments for this protection:

  • Property insurance
  • Auto insurance
  • Health insurance
  • Theft insurance

We pay for protection against things that might happen and yet we know that death is inevitable.

Why do only 25% of the people protect their family against this loss?
